What is GrooveRyde + Pure Mvmnt, and who's behind it?
One of the first things Anjua and Zosimo Maximo saw after touching down on a plane from Los Angeles was opportunity. The former actress and tv producer settled into the jobs that brought them here - lululemon Eton showroom manager position for Anjua and Vice President of Content with STACK Media for Zosimo. However, they couldn’t resist their entrepreneurial urges and decided to open both GrooveRyde and Pure Mvmnt studios in Woodmere last summer.
“Our first five years here, we kept hearing over and over that everything gets to CLE last. We wanted to be a part of this amazing revival CLE is experiencing and do our part to change that perception,” says Zosimo. “Our approach with our studios is to bring big city hybrid workouts to our backyard that everyone in NEO can enjoy.”
GrooveRyde features indoor cycling where guests ride to the beat of the music as one – a style made popular by SoulCycle. It also features its signature style of bootcamps and high-intensity interval training similar to the likes of Barry’s Bootcamp or Row House.
Pure Mvmnt is a female empowerment studio that uses movement and mindfulness to help build self-esteem and self-love. Created by Anjua, a certified iPEC Life Coach and former lead instructor for S-Factor in LA, the classes uniquely blend life coaching with the art of sensual dance, Pilates, yoga and pole fitness.
“This year has been filled with as many celebrations as there were challenges," says Anjua. "Our passion, our purpose and careers have aligned and we feel very grateful for that. We believe in CLE full-heartedly and can't wait to see where year two takes us"
